P,H,F,R Rachel Edition

I'm sharing a video today as my complete P,H,F,R.  It just really says it all!

Last weekend, Mr. Golfer and I babysit two of our grandchildren at their house.  I don't see Patrick and Rachel as much as I use to and it is always a joy to be with them.

At bedtime Rachel snuggled up into my lap and we read a couple of books and then I dimmed the lights.  Still snuggled in my lap, I sang the song to her that all the grandchildren here... the one my mother sang to me.

Being very still, listen to what happened when I sang.

Tears?  Precious! I have listened to it every day as it just pierces my heart.  I love that little girl so much!

  2. Ah! thanks for sharing. I sang that song to my boys in the rocking chair. Sweet, sweet. Can't wait to sing to grand babies!

  3. How precious!!! With a 20 and 17 year old, I am in no hurry for grandkids, they need to get through College first. But I hope they don't wait too long to marry and have kids.

  4. Just beautiful! Such a loving bond between Grandmother and Grandchild. BTW: Grandmother has a lovely voice! I might add :)

  6. I loved the initial posting - grandmothers love differently...I have never seen that more truer than with my children's grandmothers...one wouldn't babysit them and would not change diapers...the other one was the first one to give my babies their first baths, be their first babysitter, have a lap always open for them and loved them unconditionally...yep, couldn't get more different. I have always been blessed by my sisters in Christ who have blazed the way for me in being a mother. Now I am watching and learning how to be a grandmother...if God blesses me with that gift. Great job, my dear friend.
