~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

Todays post is short.  When you arrive at {Real} you will know why!

{Pretty and Funny}

If you follow my blog you will have already seen this picture.  This is my oldest granddaughter, Lilah Grace and she turned 3 yesterday.  This past Sunday we had a party and let me tell you, she is all about the princess!  I made the Rapunzel dress and hair. Doesn't every Princess throw her hair over the banister?  Especially if they don't live in a castle!

This is my youngest granddaughter, Rachel in her 7 month picture.  She is the happiest baby and her mommy, my daughter Julia, is a fantastic photographer!

 As this goes to post, Mr. Golfer and I are on a plane jetting north to South Bend, In.  I am staying over there for a few days while Mr. Golfer goes more north to Michigan to play golf.  My BFF just moved to South Bend last year.  She has been in Virginia for 20 years prior to moving.  You ask how we became BFFs when I live in Texas?  Well, because she and her family used to live in our city.  We went to church together, sang together, had babies at the same time ( I couldn't say together! He He), drove 8 children between us in my station wagon or her van, and just about any situation or trouble we could get into together.  I was heartbroken when they moved. But we have managed to see each other at least once a year and now that they children are all grown and there is a little more available money, we sometimes see each other more often that once. Our children keep in touch as well and that is really the best.

Thank you to Aunt Leila @ Like Mother Like Daughter for giving us the opportunity to link up!

  2. Have a wonderful time on your trip! My very best friend and I are again living in the same town but for YEARS we traveled back and forth to see one another, first Washington State and then Virginia. I treasure her, I hope your time with yours is just perfect!

  3. Wanda, I am SO jealous that you have a red-headed granddaughter. Maybe next year she'll want to be that Scottish princess (can't think of her name) in the movie 'Brave.'

    1. Anna, that granddaughter is the image of her mother( my daughter) who is the image of my late mother ( her grandmother). My mother would have been so proud to see both of them grow up!
