{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday, here at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

round button chicken

{Pretty}

This rose should be finished blooming for the season, but it continues to put forth.  I am keeping written records this year and trying to begin to understand how weather affects the cycle of the various bloomers in the garden.  Anyone have experience with that?

This one as well.

Along with the Cecil Bruner.

I popped into Trader Joe's today for chicken and look what met me at the door! I had to bring them home.  They were calling to me. :)

Peony season has passed here in Texas, so if I find them in the store aren't I obligated to give them a home?

{Happy}

Now that school is out for the summer, I only have my oldest and youngest ( for the moment) grandchildren during the day.  And I am at my house!  Glorious! Brother and sister... they love each other so much!

Only Rachel was photogenic. Patrick was playing hide-n-seek with the camera.

{Funny}

I normally have a difficult time coming up with funny, but today I hit pay dirt!
They may love each other, but Patrick and I call Rachel the baby tornado!  She wants whatever belongs to him.  We know that will never stop.

Rachel spent the better part of her waking time today talking to Atticus on the back porch.  He of course was oblivious, as cats should be.

But, he did take time to sun bathe a little.

This evening I was just a little light handed in putting Mr. Golfer's dinner on the table.

{Real}

I ask for prayers.  Change is always inevitable, but hard.  We may be experiencing ours soon.  More to come, just help me offer it up for now.

Looking forward to reading along with you at Like Mother Like Daughter.

  1. You are in my prayers! I am eager for your email perhaps later today or tomorrow.
    Okay, the fact that we really must meet was proven again when I found out the name of your cat, Atticus one of my all time favorites!
    The peonies really do need someone to bring them home, I find myself rescuing flowers as well. Your roses are beautiful and I love the idea of keeping a journal about them.
    I hope you have a lovely day, filled with exactly what you've prayed for.

  2. Your flowers are beautiful! We have very similar battles over toys with our 10 month old - if she sees it she thinks she should have it and is quite loud when she doesn't get it.
    You'll be in my prayers!

  3. Roses and peonies are such beautiful, old fashioned flowers! I am just starting out with gardening, and pansies are about all I do for now, but one day I hope to have both roses and peonies in my garden. :)
    Just said a little prayer for you - no matter the change, your times are in His hands. (Psalm 31:14-15)

  5. Lord bless and keep you! He is our refuge in the seas of change! Will say a prayer for you. You have a lot of people who care about you; remember this when things seem hard or in the midst of change... and of course a loving Heavenly Father.
