Week Ending Vol 8

Welcome to Week Ending!  This is where we capture the weekend, Friday through Monday in pictures.

Re-inventing Mother

My pictures are a little few this weekend.  There was a lot happening, but my camera was not always with me.  Mr. Golfer player both days this weekend and I had a lot of time to complete errands and projects.

I am not much to cook fish at home although I love to eat it.  I did experiment with a tilapia recipe and added baked zucchini. It turned out very well!

The early summer bloomers are all over the garden.  I spent a lot of time there this weekend since I was alone.
These sunflowers appeared for the first time last summer as volunteers.  I am always amazed how seeds can travel with our feathered friends.

Here in Texas, Crepe Myrtles are a native tree.  They do well in our hot summers and tolerate those winters when we have lots of snow.  I have pinks and purples and am considering adding a white. Often I will cut the small branches and bring them inside in a vase for summer color.

This is Trumpet Vine and I recommend that you only plant this in a container.  It runs rampant along one side of my yard and I don't think I will ever be able to rid the yard of it.  It travels by runner underground and has come up in places in the front yard as well.  It loves the heat though!

A little rusted trellis that helps the eye rest a while.

The summer day lilies are about to burst forth.

There aren't many roses blooming this time of the year, but this little lady keeps hanging on.

I was at the plant nursery today picking up an order and came across this yellow coneflower.  I only have purple, so I picked up one of these.  Smartly though, I planted it in a container.  I have great experience with coneflower in the garden!

This asparagus fern comes back each year although it is not supposed to be perennial.  So I tucked that coneflower in with it.  I hope they like each other!

This is the Bee Balm I ordered from the nursery.  I lost my other plant to a very hard freeze 2 years ago.

Getting ready to send St. Joseph Lilies to a couple of friends.  Thank you Mr. Golfer for being wise enough to save these boxes.

I added a new flag to the front of the house.  I have been flying flags for years and I have quite a collection.  I cleaned them all last year and must have discarded my spring ones.  So I found this today and loved the cardinal.  It is different than any others I have.

I did a little painting.  Lagoon Blue.

I also planned out a little sewing for the granddaughters.

  1. I love all the photos of your flowers! The stool is the perfect color blue and I'm eager to see the dress complete, looks like you've selected a great combo of fabric.

  2. Hi, Neat post. There's a problem along with your site in internet explorer, might test this? IE nonetheless is the marketplace chief and a big portion of other people will leave out your fantastic writing because of this problem.
