Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

I am in the home stretch of Summer in the City. The owner of the shop where I purchased it suggested I do an extra repeat at the bottom to give length, so I am going to follow that suggestion. Since I am 5'7", I assume the length will be appreciated.

I have loved this yarn and will most definitely be purchasing more.  The merino, cashmere and silk are a scrumptious combination.

Although the drop stitches took a lot of time, it was fun to learn a new technique.
I think this will be a nice addition to our Canada trip since my monitoring of the weather shows it to be in the high 60's.

I will begin this tonight.  It was one of those books that was chosen by cover pic and title.  We shall see.

No garden pics today.  It has been a day of errands.  But stay tuned on Thursday for an update.  Things are changing!

Thank Ginny for hosting.  Always a pleasure to be in such good company!

  2. Lovely yarn! It has been a very cool spring here in Canada (I'm in Ontario)...we even had the woodstove on last week! Wondering where your trip will take you.

I have tried and tried to read Kate Morton and for some reason, can't get into her books! I keep trying though, because my sister loves them and we usually share the same taste in books.

  3. I also select books based on titles and cover art - it's like playing the lottery, you win some/you lose some.
The Summer In The City project looks lovely, I'm eager to see the finished work!

  4. That is some beautiful yarn and an equally pretty pattern to knit it up with. :)

  5. What a beautiful shawl. I followed the pattern link to see what the finished knit will look like and, wow! You are going to knock 'em dead in Canada. :)
