I am going to make this year's picture fit all the categories today. Pretty because I think it truly is a good picture. Happy because everyone was! There have been years when they weren't :(. Funny because it is always a hilarious gathering when we do this. This year daughter Julia showed up with her hair in rollers and big sunglasses on like it was a movie stage! Real because it is amazing that my family has increased to this!
The sofa is the signature piece in this picture ( and what about those handknits?!), I had been looking on Pinterest for weeks at ideas with antique sofas. The day that baby Luke was born we went to a little coffee house for a bite to eat and when we walked in there was this turquoise sofa. After a series of emails, we arranged to come early one morning prior to the business opening. It turned out to be in the 40's that morning which is unusual here in October. So this picture actually took about 5 minutes. There were several shots taken and then Photoshop did the rest! Heads were moved around, sunlight was filtered and shadows covered.
So another year of picture planning is over. And guess what? I am already pinning pics for next year!
Wow, what a beautiful photo. I am going to steal that idea to of gathering all of the Christmas photos together. It would be a fun album to have setting out over the holidays!
ReplyDeleteMy thought is to scan them and do a digital book for each daughter. Not sure if my skills are up to it, but I'm going to try.
DeleteHow lovely to find you. I also am learning to be an empty nester. Not what they chalk it up to be so far. I'll follow so I can get your updates! Beautiful picture, by the way.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my front porch! Yes being retired is different now that is was for our parents. And I didn't do it voluntarily!

ReplyDeleteLove the photo and the sofa. I'm afraid I'm not as organized as you and will have to send out New Year's cards this year. Getting our huge family together is quite the task these days. I hope I can find such a great signature piece for my pic AND that everyone will smile!
