Week Ending Vol 32 Advent

~ capturing the weekend in pictures Friday through Monday

Re-inventing Mother

I really have no pictures to post.  :(  Thanksgiving  and my back pretty much did me in.  Are you tired of hearing me whine complain?  Daughters came on Wednesday and did a lot of the cooking.  Thursday would have been dismal without their help. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving ( and I pray you did as well) with all the family here.

The rest of the holiday I have just rested, read, and knit.  Not too bad because I think the next 3 weeks with grandchildren before the Christmas break will be exhausting!

But, today is the first Sunday of Advent.  I keep thinking that this pain is meant for a reason this year.  Slow down.  Enjoy Advent and don't rush Christmas.  Enjoy the waiting and the coming.

I am reading Ann Voskamp's Christmas book The Greatest Gift.  If you have not visited her website, A Holy Experience, I encourage you to.  Today's post includes the first of 4 devotional videos aimed at Advent.

I  see the chiropractor again on Tuesday.  Hoping that each treatment will continue to ease the pain.

I pray your week is hopeful and seeking during this time of "waiting".

  2. I know how you must feel. My back is bad right now, as a result of my gait being off from nerve damage. I see a pain management doc this week and I am so hopeful she can fix me! We hosted Thanksgiving as well (and I also forgot to take any pictures!) and our cat had an accident requiring extensive reconstruction Tuesday. It's a crazy time, but I do think God is calling us to slow down.

I am also reading The Greatest Gift, and praying the St. Andrew chaplet. Praying for a peaceful few weeks. We can only ask, right?
