Yarn Along...Almost There!

After the fiasco of my needles coming apart from the cords last week, I have made significant progress.  Amazing that I have considering all the events around here.  I have knit socks on two circulars before, but had never tried it on a blanket.  I was not going to take another chance and put 400 + stitches back on cords I could not trust.  So I went to the corners and put 1/2 the blanket on one set and 1/2 on another.  It worked!

I am now down to about 50 stitches.  Of course with a picot bindoff you must cast on 2 stitches for every 3 you bind off so it is a little more time than it looks,  I have learned a lot though from this simple blanket.  Mainly, don't give many choices to someone you are knitting for!

I am still hosting a giveaway to those who add my button to their blog.  I will wait until Friday to choose a winner. Thank you for giving me the visibility I need!  And thank you to Steph for putting me in touch with her LYS.  They placed an order with me today!

My reading has been so "all over the place" for so long that I decided to settle in to something I know I love.  Grace Livingston Hill has been a favored author of mine for years. A friend of mine has her mother's original copies of many of the books and has loaned them to me.  The Enchanted Barn is one of my favorites.  So I am settling in to this story quite nicely.

Linking up with Ginny!  What is everyone knitting and reading?

  6. That is one beautiful blanket! I've had needles undo themselves and it usually involved lots of stitches. I've since retired that set. Now the two that I use never ever undo (thank goodness!). That picot edging is so pretty!!!

  7. That is one of my favorite GLH novels, too. It amazes me how much the novels still inspire my own homekeeping.
