Yarn Along in the Garden

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

The Baby Drops blanket is moving right along.  The last section needed a lot of frogging.  The chart was hard to decipher.  But this middle section should be much easier.

See those peonies?  If you have been around here for any length of time you know those are near and dear to my heart for many reasons.  This is the plant that came for Monticello.  A lovely Sarah Bernhardt variety.  This bloom popped open this morning and I have admired her most of the day!

Aunt Leila's book arrived a few days ago.  I can't put it down. What a blessing to have this woman to walk us along the liturgical path.  I am pondering as I read where my prayer table is going to be place .

Joining  Ginny for another linkup!

  3. I am intrigued by this book also as she speaks of the home as the domestic church, which is something that our priest speaks of often, esp. when a Feast related to the Mother of God. *
The blanket colour is so pretty!!! It's really looking great and the flowers are so beautiful!

    1. Yes Elizabeth! In the Catholic Church the family is always considered the first teachers of the faith, therefore the domestic church. Here we begin and polish the formation of the children and in the process continue to learn and practice this beautiful catechism the Holy Spirit has inspired.

    1. Laura, I responded to your email so you know I am not far from you. Peonies are not native to this area, but they are thriving because I planted them in a place where they get the soil needed. When we do not have cold winters you will find me throwing bags of ice on the soil to make them think it is cold! This winter I did not have to do that and the cold has made them bloom with a vengeance !
