And we're off!

The camera arrived last night along with the USB cord.   I had to buy a memory card this morning after realizing no images could be saved without it!  Yes, I am a novice.

So, I just snapped a couple of pics to give a try to my meager skills.  I love that while I am working on this I am watching the Thanksgiving Mass in the Basilica in Washington, D.C.  Today is the Feast of St. Joseph, and along with the Thanksgiving Mass, I also was able to see Pope Francis give his homily during his Innaguaral Mass.  He spoke of protection.  Protection for all by all.  That most certainly will be the subject of a later post.

The St. Francis statue in the last picture was given to me by my niece last year.  It belonged to her grandmother and I was touched that she chose to bless me with it.  It now stands next to Mary in honor of our Blessed Pope Francis.

Today is knitting day at the LYS so I am off in a short while. Notice the button to the right...Yarn Along....  On Wednesdays I will be participating, so tomorrow's post will be my first.  Join me!

  2. I've had my digital since the fall of 2005, I think. My 35mm idiot-proof camera lasted a loooong time and I wasn't up for a digital, but it really was harder to even find the 35mm anymore. I bought a Kodak that was at the top of my $$ at that time. 4 kids still in school and lots of memories to capture, but plenty of mouths to still feed. It has lasted me well over the years and I have almost 19,000 photos on my computer that need sorted, pitched and printed or stored. Start a method with that right to start out with. Life was zinging by so fast, I'd take 10-20 shots so that I had 2 good ones, then not delete the bads. Come up with a method and stick with it. You'll be glad you did.
