Yarn Along Wednesday

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

Joining Ginny today at Small Things for the weekly Yarn Along.

Mr. Golfer let me accompany him part of the way on his annual golf trip last weekend.  I spent 3 days with my BFF and we yarn shopped.  Oh did we yarn shop!

One of the projects I have been working on is the Aranami Shawl.  I was using Knit Picks Shine to get an idea of how it would go together. The wedges are so fun to put together and I do think that I will complete this one in cotton just to have the versatility with the seasons.  But....

My friend and I found a little shop in southern Michigan called The Red Purl. And there I found this..

Alpaca.  Soft, luscious, want to lay down on it, Alpaca.  Now I have issues with alpaca next to my skin in the past, so I am hoping since this will wrap over another top I won't have the same
" itchies "that plagued me before.  If so, then this sweet little number will be gifted!

I am making slow progress on the baby blanket.

I am enjoying it, but this is why it is going so slow:

This yarn was another purchase at that sweet little shop along with the pattern Summer in the City.  The yarn is Woolie Silk 3 Ply and is scrumptious!  It is a fast knit, so I am going to complete it before we leave for Canada and then plow ahead into the baby blanket.

I am on the last story of 5 in the Lineage of Grace.  This has been a book I can't put down.  Although it is narrative and I am sure the author took some creative license, I have enjoyed the stories and the prayerful moments interspersed.  It also contains a study guide and group questions of you were to use it that way.

So what is on your needles?  I always depend on your reading suggestions to keep a book in front of me!

  2. wow you really got to add to your yarn collection. Love that shawl still that is scalloped. I'm eyeing it and still pondering, I'm trying not to buy yarn. Love the lacy knit as well :)
