Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well.

The Haruni Shawl is almost complete.  Just 4 more pattern rows and a bath will be in order.  It has been a nice knit, although I was more confused over the charts than other knitters said they were.  I reverted to the printed instructions to navigate through.

I am still reading The Birth House.  I seem to fall sleep each night after just a page or two!  Also, I am going back and reading parts of One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.  This book speaks to me in ways no other book ever has.  I need to read parts repeatedly in order to have them become part of me.  I love my autographed copy!

Linking up today with Ginny at Small Things. What are you knitting and reading?

  4. I love Ann's book too and love to give it as a gift.
Your shawl is stunning. I have had a little trouble with the chart on my knit. Truthfully I think I got spoiled reading Jared Flood's patterns, they are just so easy they make everything else look complicated.

  10. Oh, I have to confess envy of your autographed copy of Ann Voskamp's book. I have never read a book that read like music to my soul the way that one did. And, I love the title of your blog... it is a process of re-inventing your life in the empty nest phase. Knitting has been a wonderful tool in that process for me. I've even done a Haruni. Did you know that in Tolkein's elfin language Haruni means grandmother?? blessings ~ tanna
