If you have been on my blog the last few weeks you have seen me working on this blanket. It is to be gifted to a special mother this weekend. I have knit the Lullaby Blanket twice now and it continues to be a favorite!

We are under construction. I hate construction in my house, but for 25 years I have asked for a real mantle with bookcases. Mr. Golfer and my son in laws finally gave it to me. There will be a complete post when it is all finished. There is still much painting to do and the shelves still to add, but I am soooo happy!
It is really shaping up and is going to be beautiful! I especially love the family photo hung up over the fireplace!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is gorgeous!
My hands are so sore from painting! All that brick on the top and round the fireplace opening I painted in one day plus the mantle!
DeleteThe blanket is gorgeous! I have dreams of a fireplace with mantle and bookcases too. Somday, someday... Yours is looking great!
ReplyDeleteYour knitting has inspired me to slow down and do more long term projects. You have such a talent. Just finished a 1000 hour shawl for my mom - it was not enjoyable, but when I saw it on her yesterday for her 81st bday - it was divine. Thanks for the inspirations. Oh - and love the mantel!
ReplyDeleteThat blanket is amazing. Utterly beautiful and amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deletethat mantel will be so nice! It seems all things in life take time; good for me to remember... that blanket is so precious! Love the kids too; YES, simple pleasures, they are the best... :)
ReplyDeleteYes they do take time, but 25 years is way too long! At least now the grand children's stocking have a place at Christmas!
DeleteI love how your bookcases are turning out! We have a similar project in mind for our own fireplace. :)
ReplyDeleteOnce the shelves are in and I can move some books over there I will be most pleased. We have a leak in our chimney and until that is repaired I cannot have a fire. I hated that old bronze cover, but it sure left a mess! Paint is the ultimate fix!
DeleteWhat a beautiful blanket!! And I would definitely be excited for those bookcases. :)
ReplyDeleteThat blanket is beyond gorgeous! I love your little Tinkerbell fun too, and the mantle/bookcases look great! Good luck on that project's completion! And thanks so much for stopping over to my space!
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to being a hands-on grandma one day, and you are my inspiration and model.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the realization of your home decorating wish!
