Imagine how surprised I was to find out my blog had received an award.   This blog is really not anything special.  But Kathy knew how to make me smile during a really rough patch of time.  Thank you my sweet friend!!

 The rules are:

1.  Use the award logo in your post.
2.  Link to whoever nominated you.
3.  Tell us 10 pieces of information about yourself
4.  Nominate fellow bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogsphere
5.  Leave a comment on the nominees' blog to tell them of the award.

So ten things......

1.)  I was born while my parents were on vacation.  No, we weren't in different places.  I just decided to come early.  We lived in California at the time and had taken a jaunt over to Wyoming to see Yellowstone.  I decided to make my arrival in Wyoming!

2.)  My father was an oil surveyor and we traveled all the time. Because of this, we lived in a mobile home until I was 10 years old.  My father passed away at that time and my mother, brother and I moved into an apartment.  When my mother remarried, I was 13.  It was then I lived in my first brick and mortar house and had a room of my own!

3.)  I was a twirler in high school.  I played flute in the band during concert season and marched during football season.  We twirled double batons, fire batons and machetes!

4.)  My husband and I met in college.  I was in nursing school and he was in law school.  I was meeting with an attorney to discuss a possible legal issue and my husband was his law clerk.  The attorney thought we were meant for each other and locked us in the copy room.  The rest is history!

5.)  I am addictd to Sonic Diet Coke.  Every time I leave my house in the car I stop at our local Sonic so that I have a drink with me all the time. Yes I know all the bad vibes about DC and aspartame.  Ask me if I care!

6.)  I had one sibling, a brother, who although I loved very much, tormented me all the years we were growing up.  I prayed and prayed that my children would all be girls.  We have 4.

7.)  I was a speed walker.  Yep!  In 1999 I decided to get control of lingering baby fat and began to walk. Within 2 years I could walk an 8 minute mile and had lost 60 lbs.  Go me!  In the last few years I stopped walking when family pressures became pretty intense, but I plan on returning to walking as soon as Daylight Savings time begins.

8.)  I taught my self to knit on a night flight to Mexico.  Daughter Caitlin was studying at the University in Guanajuato, Mexico and wanted me to visit.  Ther were tornados everywhere that day and my flight was delayed numerous times.  It became a very late night flight into Mexico.  I am a terrible flyer and so to pass the time and keep me un-focusd on the flight I pulled out my "how to" book and taught myseld the basic knit stitch.  It  obviously became an obsession.

9.)  I love to paint.  Not in artisticaly, but in walls..of..my..house.  Every room in our house has been painted more times than I remember.  I think though I have finally settled on the right color....for now. :)

10.)  I collect antique bobblin spools. The  picture below is where the majority of the collection resides, but many are scattered through out the house. My collection began years ago when they were reasonably priced.  Now it is hard to find them affordable.

It is not hard to find others to nominate for this award. If Kathy had not bestowed this on me, she would be first on my list.  We actually had the opportunity to meet and she is delightful.  A true inspiration to me.

1.)  Steph at Woolythyme has become my kntting mentor.  She flies through projects at the speed of light and always has a new gadget I want.

2.)  Ginny at Small Things leads a wonderful life with her family in Virginia and provides the Yarn Along link for us on Wednesdays.  It really is the highlight of my blogging week.

3.)  Elizabeth at In The Heart of My Home continually keeps me grounded in my Catholic thought.  I'm sure I have harrassed her with more questions and comments than she cares for, but her words are true music for my soul.

4.)  Alicia at Posie Gets Cozy is a new blog to me, but I love her pictures and she inspires me to put the cozy into my own home.  I ordered one of her ornament kits for my granddaughters.

In closing et me thank you for all the prayers this past week or so.  The comment that led me to the novena for Mary the Undoer of Knots has been miraculous!  I am on day 4 and already the situation has become more clear.  Thank you!

And Kathy..... thank you!!!!
