Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

I began a new shawl this week.  I actually have begun, frogged, and changed yarns.  I started with a yarn that was beautiful to look at, but hard to knit with.  The more I knit the more I become persnickety about the feel.  And I am learning that 100% merino does not feel the same in every yarn.  This is Leche, a merino, milk protein, and silk blend.  It is soft and easy on the hands.  The pattern is the Arroyo shawl.  A crescent sharp, it is knit from the lace upward instead of the usual top down.  So 241 stitches are cast on to begin.

Yesterday's post premiered new yarn acquired over the last few days.  The sweater I chose is a simple one.  This is going to be car knitting so I don't want a complicated pattern.

Reading this week is at a stalemate.  I haven't made a library run yet.

Linking up with Ginny!!!

  7. you and I are two peas in a pod with the new shawl thing going. I'm sure you will finish before me, since I'm rarely knitting these weeks! But soon I will have miles of time :) Love the yarn and the color :)
