Yarn Along and An Upcoming Surprise!

I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures.  I had to take most of these at night and with my iPad.  Crazy long day:(((

My Honey Cowl is complete and I love it!  It is not huge or thick which is more comfortable for me.  I don't like tightness around my neck, but I do like warmth.  I used a Mad Tosh yarn I have had for a long time, since my first year of knitting 8 years ago. I'm going to start another one because I can see this is going to get a lot of use this winter.

Do you notice my new blocking mats and pins?  These are so cool!  Made by Knitters Pride they are the easiest blocking pins to use.  Just position your item where you want it and push the pin into the yarn and then mat.  I'm going to order a second set:))

I pulled this UFO out of the basket.  It is the Aranami Shawl I started almost 2 years ago.  This alpaca is so soft and if it wasn't for the picking up of all those stitches it would already be finished.  My goal is by the end of February!

If you love Pride and Prejudice like I do you will love Longbourn. This is the story of the below stairs staff and their relationships to the family.  Beautifully written and captivating.  I can't put it down.

If you're remember, my blogging friend Elizabeth DeHority is the inspiration for Drawstrings.  Elizabeth has stage 4 triple negative breast cancer and is fighting the toughest battle of all.  I received this message from her over the weekend.

I'm so very sad.  This mother is the epitome of giving and is constantly serving others even though it is she who we should be taking care of.  She and I are conspiring though to offer another opportunity to reach out to those orphans and less fortunate she loves so much.  Elizabeth has dyed a very special hank of her own handspun yarn and is also knitting a pair of socks with it.  As soon as she completes the pair it will be in the mail to me along with the hank of yarn.  I am going to then match that yarn to fabric for a one of a kind bag.  All three will be offered in a raffle!

The actual date is not set.  I'm working with Ginny to make this fabulous for Elizabeth.  But stay tuned!  It will be awesome:))))))

Your cowl is beautiful. I am somewhat envious of that blocking set! I don't have anything like it, and sure could use it!
