Yarn Along

~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading (though not at the same time!), and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

This past Saturday Ginny did a promotion post for Drawstrings. It was such a success!  A record day of sales and the 20% discount is still good though Nov 1. In fact, there are a couple of large bags that I marked down and the discount can be used on top of that!  You win! The code is GINNY07  If you haven't "liked"  Drawstrings on facebook please do.  New bags, sales and info are always updated there.  You don't want to miss an opportunity to see what is new.  That purple bag above is in the shop and the one below it (made by my oldest daughter Elizabeth), that is similar to the giveaway bag this past weekend, is also there. And isn't that large one beautiful?!  My favorite color.

I have put my Hitofude aside for a bit.  Back in the summer I knit granddaughter Evelyn this sweater.  The pattern is our own Ginny's Sunday Sweater.  It is now time to knit sister Lilah one as well and since both love purple, I have chosen a dark shade this time. Knit Picks Shine or Comfy is a favorite yarn of mine.  The Texas climate suits a cotton yarn well even in winter. The sizing has been tricky this time though.  Lilah is 4, but slim and petite.  I began the 4-5 size, but quickly realized it would be way to large.  But also, the 2-3 would be outgrown quickly.  So I have frogged the one you see above and restarted the 4-5 but on a size 7 needle rather than an 8.  We shall see!

I am deep into reading this book written  by the former Director of Catechesis in our Diocese.  As a convert, I always am searching for direction in our faith and this book is wonderful.  It is given to all those in RCIA and I am finding it so well written and usable.

Next Wednesday I will be hosting a giveaway for Drawstrings here on the blog.  There is a new fabric on its way and you won't want to miss this bag!

Linking up with Ginny today!
